We Really Were Made for More

As I was cleaning up after a workout today, I listening in to a conversation between two men.  They were talking about their weekend plans.  One commented he wouldn't be doing much because this was a low money week.  The other commented about going to Red Lobster for dinner.  It would be the highlight of his weekend.  To which the other responded that eating at Buffalo Wild Wings had been fantastic the other night.

It became obvious that a major highlight of these guys lives was where they would eat out.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy food and eating out as much as anyone, but it isn't a highlight.  Their conversation really caught me off guard.  Am I really hearing what I think I'm hearing?  I'm convinced I was.  I was saddened for these two men.  Everything in me wanted to grab them by the shoulders, look them in the eye, and say "You were made for so much more! The life God has for you is so much bigger - so much richer - so much grander than a weekend meal at a nice restaurant."  But . . . Strangers that grab other guys by the shoulder in a locker room are considered bizarre and a lot of other things so I held off.

But I did pray for these two men.  I asked God to open their eyes to the more they were made for.  I asked for a divine opportunity with them in the future.  And I thanked God that He had graciously led me to the more found in life with Jesus.  I thanked Him for allowing me to be a part of His mission to help others discover the more they were made for!  May He  use me to point people to life with Jesus!  And may He do the same for you!
